I agree with the Berserker suggestion.
As Dundee said take g.m. in flails (FoA is awesome). Also I would suggest dualwielding with Defender of Eastheaven in the off-hand (although probably it's not the most appropriate fighting-style for a Dwarf :D ). A half-orc Barbarian would be a good choise too, especially in high levels. His innate physical resistance combined with the flail Defender,a fighter's HLA and a ToB helmet and armor, would make him an even better defensive tank. |
Wait... why choose Dwarves over Half-Orcs because of the high constitution? I thought they were both able to get a 19 constitution... And, etiehr way, Half-Orcs get a 19 Strength. Much better than a dwarf.

Dwarves are supposed to get extra saving throw bonuses because of high CON that half-orcs don't. The half-orc's extra STR shouldn't be much of an issue because there are items that can grant the dwarf an equivalent STR.

why not a gnome berserker then? They also get excellent saving throws, and the one point in DEX is more important than 1 point in CON IMO, especially if you're using thrown weapons.
|
Gnomes' SavingThrow bonuses are not as good as the Dwarven ones.
|
Still, a 19 STR has a much larger bonus than any 18/?? bonus, correct?
|
19 STR = +3 to hit, +7 damage.
18/?? STR ranges from +1 - +3 to hit, +3 - +6 damage. |

Good point. Forgot about the girdles.
|
And even the girdles are irrelevant when the dwarf has Crom Faeyr in his/her offhand.
