Hell with it:

The robot hound senses the intruders. It transmits a signal to the rbot guards by it, then leaps forward. A red beam shoots from its left eye. Despite the speed, the beam is blocked by Lord Shield's arm where the hound now finds himself unable to stop firing. After some time (these things were not meant for long, continuous fire), his energy burns out and the hound collapses

Encard points one of his wands at a robot guard and says the trigger word. A beam of blue light shoots out of the wand, turning to water as it hits the robot. The robots initial reaction as the light/water hit was to try and blast it with his laser, but all this succeeded in doing was superheating the water so that it melted the robot's head and short-circuiting it. It stood in place for a moment, then exploded, showering the second guard with flames and shrapnel.
