Okay, I lied. The bracers are not exclusive to monks. They are for monks and dwarven defenders. The new gaunlets are exclusive to monks. I changed around the history somewhat, but the powers are pretty much the same as I posted up here in terms of revision. They, along with a few new books and a couple of new whips, will be sent off to Ziroc today. They have some pretty impressive company along with them, so hopefully Ziroc will like your gauntlet ideas and slide them into a store somewhere - or give them to one of those new foes we have waiting for us beyond the gates in Level Two. (Don't think I've forgotten there are more areas Ziroc is working on besides Level Fifteen...)

General question with scripting, stores, and items:

Is it possible to create a store (or just an area like a store) where you have to have a certain gemstone in order to choose an item from it? I figure a sweep script would be necessary to remove the item (similar to a regular plot item) from your inventory. I was thinking about all the ideas put forth in the thread concerning the Ancient Longbow Of Power and Arcane Archers, and I know there have been a lot of really powerful items unearthed on Level Fourteen. Maybe I am overcomplicating this...

Maybe, could there be a store accessable only by removeable key? The key could be anything, perhaps even the Hand Of Bane (to refer to another thread). Just something that the moment it was used, the item would be destroyed. That way, there'd be no reusing it to complete the Hand Of Bane quest. In there, many of the more powerful items either proposed here or already available in the module could be placed at four times their "true" value. It'd make for an almost A-List store, but it would give a good place for a lot of the +9 and above items a place to stay where they could always be found. Given the amount of money one can make inside of Escape From Undermountain, this doesn't seem to be too unreasonable a possibility.

And Ziroc, on a completely different tip...
I really wanna see those Crafter's Rings. Original and individual looks for everyone! *Thumbs up for that*

Due to the displeasure of one person at not finding enough shuriken styles to suit their needs, I have created another five (or more) shuriken to be sent into Ziroc for his perusal. A few of them are basic high-level shuriken (+9, and +12), but the majority of them will have different effects, much like the arrows do now. I have not created any knew throwing darts or throwing axes, mainly as I've not been requested to do so. As well, I have made another five armors which are more... pleasing to the female form than the ones we have now. (Yes, I made more Chain Mail Bikinis months ago. If they show up, I'll be happy.) I have a strong feeling I should leave the bows (long and short) alone for now, as we've no idea what will be arriving in the new stores. I was thinking of doing more arrows, but after taking a look through what Jaraos had on him, I doubt I'll be needing to do that any time soon. (You should SEE what that guy has waiting for Cyrists!)

Good, 'cause the shurikens are *boring* right now not to mention not very viable weapons :( .

I do what I can, milady fair. *bows* Armors were made, shuriken were made, but I draw the line at the pink bunny slippers with the steel blades underneath. Yes, that was sarcasm when I suggested them. (Even my blank thought ideas get details. I am strange that way.) No, I am NOT making those. That's some levels of wrong just above teaching magic to a kender. And no, I HAVE no kender mages in my stable of strange characters. (Not making any either.) Given that we have Mickey Mantle's Baseball Bat, I wonder how much trouble would we get into if he had a set dedicated to the best villain Marvel Comics ever created: Doctor Victor Von Doom. (Thanos is too powerful, and J.Jonah Jameson isn't a true villain.) Yeah, the armor of Doom... the gauntlets of Doom... the mask of Doom... YEAH... *leans back and visualizes that for a long while.*

Maybe a themic [set] based on the "Emo" or Goth look:

(you decide the stats, but medium armor at best))

(Mohawk style)spiked helm
Black studded armor
" " gauntlets
" " heavy boots
" " cloak (Cha -1, Bluff +3)
Straightblade +8 (Bonus dmg: negative 2d8, dmg +1d8 vs, humans, keen)

(You should hear the girls chuckling about this ;) )

Monk gloves of ..

"I need to hit the monster today" cult

So of course the minimum enhancement bonus would have to be +15 (stop me if you have heard this one before)

At the moment a pure level 40 monk can not hit jack

Is there a way of making these gloves for pure monks only?

robertthebard 02-01-2007 07:24 PM

Sure, you put so much crap on them that it's almost impossible to get UMD high enough to use them. However, unless a rogue/bard type plans on fighting unarmed, the gloves really don't do much for them.

Mozenwrathe 02-01-2007 11:19 PM

To Garnet FalconDance:

your two sets are done and will be sent into Ziroc either tonight or tomorrow.

To wellard:

the highest I made gloves so far was +11. I believe Ziroc already has them in his possession and will make alterations to them as necessary. The same thing goes for kama. made both of those some time ago to address the fact right now monks apparently are lagging behind in terms of being able to clock their foes. I haven't tried to create a combat monk in a while, so I may attempt one of those in the next few weeks to see exactly how far back they are lagging offensively. I know for defense with the right materials monks are virtually untouchable by anything that isn't pure magic.

To everyone else:

been working. yes, finally got a real job again so I have not be online as much. just recently worked on a few slingstones, more shuriken, and a few darts. will upload those to Ziroc in a few days. as well, may finally do up those crossbows I have been promising for the past year. anything else may be mentioned to me in this thread. thank you for your support, and have a great evening.

You have a monk that's affected by magic?
