Good point... I'll have to think on that.

Gonna Solo with an elven diviner, might be fun. The extra spells will help out alot in the beginning
My current Char is: Name: Vanre Sex: Male Race: Elf Class: Diviner Stats: STR: 12 DEX: 19 Con: 11 INT: 18 WIS: 17 CHA: 15 STAT Total of 92! Huzzah! Soloing without summoning spells is gonna be harder though... |
My first and only character so far as I've just finished BG1, and soon to export her to BG2.
Enilegna - Fighter(level 7)/Mage (level 7) Chaotic Good. STRENGTH 19 DEXTERITY 14 CONSTITUTION 14 INTELLIGENCE 19 WISDOM 15 CHARISMA 14 Total 95 No cheats or constant re-rolling, but ofcourse i found some tomes along the way. Its going to be hard to let go of my first and most loved char, but in time i will =) |

those give NO bonuses whatsoever (just like dex 9 and con 9 and cha 9) and use up 15 valuale attribute points. [/QB]
Well what am i supposed to do, i can't rearrange the core stats can i? and i'm greedy, i'm not going to give tomes to NPCs |
I can roll characters with stat totals of around 89 to 92 reasonably regularly. They're always half-elf Fighter / Mages and they're always named Trevelyn. The current version who I'm playing in BG1 Tutu looks like
ST: 18(84) DX: 18 CN: 17 IN: 18 WS: 11 CH: 10 My best total ever is 95 (18/18/17/17/14/11), also on BG1 Tutu. Then I managed to screw up my installation and I had to demolish my Baldur's Gate II folder and re-install from the beginning. However, I forgot to save the character file, so that incarnation is lost for ever! I guess I'll have to make do with a total of "only" 92. I haven't decided yet whether to use all the tomes with this guy. I've heard it recommended that you get your Wisdom as high as possible so you can Wish upon a star in Throne of Bhaal, but I'm thinking the effects of low-Wisdom wishes are much funnier (and I can use the points in Charisma - most of the PnP Wisdom modifiers aren't implemented in Baldur's Gate, and it's fun to get through the Sword Coast on your good looks). |
Eldorath
Human male Invoker STR: 13 DEX: 19 CON: 17 INT: 19 WIS: 21 CHA: 11 God bless the tomes Took him all the way through the trilogy, I did [ 08-27-2005, 03:34 PM: Message edited by: Melcheor ] |
My current character through BGI is a Halfling Thief who goes by the name of Smeagol. He is currently in the Larswood forest in Chapter 3. He is travelling with Imoen (Level 7 Thief/Level 4 Conjurer), Branwen (Level 6 Cleric), Khalid (Level 6 Fighter), Minsc (Level 6 Ranger) and Dynaheir (Level 6 Invoker)
His stats are before tomes, after tomes in brackets; Strength - 17 (18) Dexterity - 19 (20) Constitution - 16 (17) Intelligence - 15 (16) Wisdom - 13 (16) Charisma - 10 (11) Total - 90 (98) His other (base) attributes are as follows (equipment assisted attributes in brackets); Thief Level 7 Alignment - Neutral Good Experience - 53,876 (next level 70,000) HP - 56 AC - 6 (0 with Studded Leather +3: Shadow Armour, -2 with Defender +5 equipped as well) THAC0 - 19 (14 with unenchanted Short Bow and Arrows, 13 with Defender +5 equipped, 12 with Bracers of Archery and Bow and Arrows) MR - 0 Reputation - 19 Thief skills - Open Locks - 95 Stealth - 40 (90 with Shadow Armour and Boots of Stealth equipped) Find Traps - 60 Pick Pockets - 85 Backstab - x3 Saves - Death - 8 Wand - 8 Petrify - 11 Breath - 15 Spells - 9 Proficiencies Large Sword - * Small Sword - * Bow - * AC Modifiers - Piercing - -4 (-1 from Shadow Armour, -3 from Girdle of Piercing) Missile - -4 (-1 from Shadow Armour, -3 from Girdle of Piercing) Slashing - 2 (From Shadow Armour) Apologies for the length and any grammatical errors, but I like to be thorough. yeah i played Baldur's Gate a hundred times yet i always use this great dude.
Paladin Erik Str:13(Rerolling sucks) DEX:13 CON:18(HP!) INT:16 WIS:14 CHA:17 Spider's Bane kills more regular monsters than spiders. I advice not to make your main character a mage, they die quickly. I made a mage once and she only had 4 hp. Tarnish kept kicking my ass! |
<font color = shadowed cyan> Ive run this guy through the BG saga four times and (sadly) can probably name most of the spells he has memorised. Normally when I start a new game with him I use gate/shadow keeper to modify his xp to whatever you normally start with for that game (lvl 1 bg, lvl 7 bg2 lvl 16 tob) and continue.
Ulyssis Male, Human, Mage stats (when i rolled them there helluva lot better now due to tomes) str:13 dex:17 con:9 int:18 wis:16 cha:12 quaterstaffs * sling * dagger * darts * im a powergamer, but after using this guy so much i cant help but role play. ahh the victories hes had. </font> |
my current char, about to wind up with BG/ToSC and head on into BG2/ToB:
vesselle female, half-orc fighter/cleric str: 19 dex: 16 con: 16 int: 12 wis: 14 cha: 12 shield/mace (yes... i had to reroll a kabillion times to get those stats) [ 08-29-2006, 01:17 AM: Message edited by: vesselle ] |
Re: Fav Character
My Sorcerer (BG1 TUTU Mod allows you to play BG1 with BG2 engine):
Name: Hard 2 Hit Level: 12 (780,000 XP since he was a solo mage) Strength: 19 Dexterity: 19 Constitution: 19 Intelligence: 19 Wisdom: 8 Charisma: 15 Had all the best items: Cloak of Balduran Robe of Good Arch-Magi Ring of Protection + 2 Ring of Wizardry (No point having 2 since he could already cast 12 Magic Missiles) Boots of Speed Staff + 3 Spear Staff + 2 Sling + 1 and 1000 +2 bullets (Had Pouch) Gauntlets of Weapon Expertise 250,000 Spare Gold I got all of this by Soloing BG1 only once with him. |
Re: Fav Character
Here is mine:
Dwarven Fighter (Berserker in BG2) Str: 19 Dex: 17 Con: 20 (He had a mean 120 HP in the end!) Int: 12 Wis: 8 Cha: 10 I rolled a 82, and im up to 86 with tomes. I gave my wis tomes to jaheira (the ranger/cleric), dex and int to Imoen (for theiving bonuses and to get rid of the annoying cant learn spell thing in BG2). I like the low wisdom, because what wise man would jump into battle blindly wielding double axes (BG2)? |
Re: Fav Character
Well this forum seems to have had its last post in 2008. I'm going ahead and post on my journey in BG1EE here. if there is another place I should post, please advise.
So I've had the opportunity to play BG1 several times but never made it past the Nashkel mines since something would always come up and I wouldn't be able to spend the time on the game. With the BG1EE, I've made it till Scar in the city of BG and I'm still soldiering through. I am kind of cheating as I am following a walkthrough but in the interest of finishing the game at least once, I think it is a fair trade. Anyway, I noticed something funny, I'm not able to force several locks on chests despite a 18 STR score. These are chests that contain good loot and I was wondering if it was a bug and if there is a workaround. Thoughts anyone? |
Re: Fav Character
Well I got a STR score of 19 and a Knock spell memorized and I'm dealing with the locked chests.
Oh, and my party is as follows: PC - Fighter mage Ajantis Branwen Jaheira Minsc Imoen (who hasnt been dualed into a mage as I wanted to horde all the spells to take with me to BGII). I'm about to begin the large underground lair in DT and am already getting my posterior handed to me by the greater dopplegangers. Cant seem to take them out especially if there are gangs of them. If it interests anyone, I was thinking of doing a weekly post of my progress in BGII or IWD/IWDII once I finish this. Seem likes the interest in these classics has totally waned. |
Re: Fav Character
Or should I begin Dragon Age instead of these games? I've never gotten around to playing it before.
|
Re: Fav Character
Finally finished BG1 for the first time. Very anti-climatic end with it just cutting to the opening screen with 'New Game', etc. Took me a while to discover where my saved games were stored and then to import the character to BG2. But I think that was what it was all about, getting the character to BG2 along with the golden pantaloons.
I'm grinning ear to ear as the music of BG2 begins! More posts on that thread... Cheers! |
