Liliara hesitates to answer the man's questions, having a few of her own. The biggest being how he came to speak the elven language. Before she can ask, her attention is drawn to a newcomer in the corner, he looks somewhat familiar, maybe from the bar where she met up with Shade and Skye. Then she notices the drows who have somehow surrounded them. They look to their dead comrades, then to the three who stand before them. "Don't worry of my abilities!" she says to Link. Liliara poises herself in front of the prisoner and faces the drows in her vicinity. "I see we have some playmates" she says with a smirk. The first of the dark elves to move rushes towards her. She easily dispatches him with a slash from her sword, and then steps to next. With a spin, she takes the next two to an early grave. She can hear the sounds of battle behind her and knows that Link and possibly the man are doing their share to take out more.

Bullvye's resoponse to Liliara is broken, perhaps a scent....or maybe a sound! The new challenege is met by Liliara without hesitation.
Storming past the other two, a Drow warrior charges Bullvye, then hesitates..his eyes meeting with dark human eyes of Bullvye. He screams a battle cry as he brings his sword around in a "whoop" that misses Bullvye's chest by inches. Bullvye's massive arm meets the Drow across the chest with a 'clothesline' that nearly decapitates him,.......rendering the warrior unconcious. A second attack comes to Bullvye's ground, the fear in the eyes of the apparently young Drow soldier obvious. He thrusts suddenly with his spear towards Bullvye's heart. With an almost gentle precision the massive man darts to the side, and in one movement wraps the chains of his schackles around the Drows neck, and with a sickening deliberate pull,...snaps the evil Elf's neck, dropping him to the ground. As Encard and Plague materialize at the hovercraft, three of the hobgoblins finally get the courage to step up to the opening again, and go through. HOwever, as they come through the portal and onto the hovercraft, Plague looks in their direction, takes a deep breath, and blowws the air out... however, the air is now a sickly green and black in color, and when it touches the hobgoblins, they being to writh in agony as they are hit by some sort of abyssal plague... their flesh begins to rot before the party's eyes, and Encard shudders and finishes them with his sword. Plague then turns back to the party, and asks them whether they would be willing to help him if he helps them with their current task.

(OOC: Rissa is a Lawful Good female elven Fighter/Thief who wields and enchanted scimitar and has an easier time being violent than most elves.
Ben is a Lawful Neutral male elven Fighter, he wields a highly magical battle axe and is very skilled at fighting even though he prefers not to. Kharanax is a male human Sorcerer, at the moment, he's not really human, but a curse prevents him from using his true form and all of his powers, he's also Lawful Evil, but he sometimes acts a bit nicer than you'd expect a Lawful Evil person to do, he prefers not to use weapons but instead prefers to kill his foes with precise magical attacks, if it is necessary to use weapons however, he can summon his staff, Flamewood, which sometimes incinerates the things which he strikes with it. Siria is a Neutral Good female human warrior, she's younger and less experienced than the others, she wields a magical long sword. Dac is a Chaotic Neutral mage, he wields a Vorpal Dagger, he prefers spells which kill his enemies without unneccessary gore(Death Spell, Power Word Kill, and such spells), he also wields quite a few homemade spells, such as Dark Flame, which launches a bolt of black flame at his foes, the bolt both sets them on fire and attempts to flay their soul, another spell he's made himself is Jelly Lightning, it's much like Chain Lightning, except that those who are struck by it have their bones turned to jelly and sometimes their internal organs implode as well. There, now you know a bit about these new characters, after writing that I'm too tired to write an IC post too, I'll make one later.) ------------------ Worshipper of Tiax. Kivan ran down the dark tunnel, he could just see the grimlock ahead of him and hear his companions behind him, he turned a corner and was blinded by the light of day and stopped, bringing his arm up to shield his eyes, his eyes got used to the light of day just in time for him to see the grimlock race over a hill some way ahead.
His companions caught up with him a few seconds later, "Damn," said Dac after Kivan told him the grimlock had escaped, "We should prepare for an attack soon, it's certain to go for reinforcements, me and Kharanax can summon some creatures and rig up some magical traps, the rest of you can spread out a bit and tell us when they are coming." About twenty minutes later, Siria came racing back to Dac and Kharanax, closely followed by the rest, out of breath she stopped for a few seconds before telling them what she had seen, "At least forty Drow, supported by ten ogres and three vampires, we'd better hurry up and get ready, they'll be here in ten minutes." ------------------ Worshipper of Tiax. Grinning evilly as he let the last essence of dark magic flow out of his fingers the vamperic wizard stood back and admired is handiwork, the adventures at this point only just relishing the effect the spell was having on their surroundings.
Apart from the sudden plunge into darkness there were other, more subtle, changes, the shadows around them darkened, the air became heavy with the stench of death and black fog seemed to cloak the ground making it harder to breath. As the snarling figures steeped out of the darkness, bearing fangs and sharpened nails the vampires, led by the girl attacked, a few others following her counterpart and staying back to attack with magic. |
OOC: Have any of you seen Saving Private Ryan? I'm thinking we should have something happen like in the end of the movie. Where they know they're outnumbered, but they still stand their ground. It will replenish the idea that being GODLY isn't (in fact) that much fun. Perhaps a few of us die, but unlike the movie come back at a later time. I am willing to part with my character for a short time, just as long as I know someone will reincarnate him. Is anyone else willing to part with theirs for a short time?

OOC: Well, I could pull this together. The small band finds the sword, possibly a short battle between Liliara & Co. with LF & Co. (Hmm.. Skye vs. the Robot? Liliara vs. the Mindflayer? Shade vs. LF? It's the best bet, as Shade doesn't really know LF that well). LF nearly kills Shade, realizes what he is doing, abandons his party, and they all go back to LS. There is where my theory takes part.

"Blood suckers!",Ash snarls charging forward with Carsomyr held low. With a grunt of exertion he drives the holy avenger straight through three of them pinning the shreiking undead to the tower wall.(Note: Never attack in single file formation.) As Ash releases the handle of the mighty sword another nosferatu leaps towards him from the darkness,he quickly splashes holy water in it's eyes,and as it clutches it's smoking face he makes an underhand swing with the mace of disruption crushing the vampire's groin. He tosees the holy water on the pinned undead and follows it up with a vial of fiery burning. Yanking free the sword he watches the vampires run about like human torches,handily providing light for the fight.

OOC: Hmm... from your post, Nanobyte, I'm assuming that the undead are attacking LS. Cackle...
IC: As a small group of undead rushes at the hovercraft, ahead of their fellow attackers, Plague beings to laugh with evil-sounding glee and aims his flaming spear (of death) as if it were a rilfe, then concentrates for several long moments... and a gout of flame shoots from the spear to fly forward and hit the oncoming undead (mostly skeletons with a lesser vampire in their midst). The foul creatures (or at least the vampire) howl in pain, and several of the skeletons fall to the ground, burned, while the vampire rolls around trying to extinguish the flames on it. Plague cackles gleefully and looks around to see if his companions of the hovercraft are ready to attack. Encard readies his wands, but doesn't use them yet, as the distance is still to great and he doesn't want to use the portal trick when there are enemies about that might not die to the initial blast of destruction. Just then, Plague begins to chant something in a deep, echoing voice, and forces begin to build... by then, the vampire, who was not hit by the full power of the flames, has gotten up and now continues his rush forward, although he is now more careful. Encard puts him in line with one of his more nasty-to-undead wands, ready to release a concentrated blast of light when the vampire gets close enough. ------------------ Lord of the RaBid Fruit Trees. A magical darkness descended over Kivan and his friends, they could still see, the darkness was not made to blind them, but to shield the attacking Drow from the light of day, the Drow moved ran over the hill, a few staying back to launch a shower of arrows at their foes, but the arrows were averted by the Wall of Force created by Dac and so did no damage, Kivan and his friends were outnumbered, some of them were sure to die and they didn't have a cleric to bring them back, Kivan put three arrows on his bowstring and let them fly, one of them killed a Drow, the second stuck in the thigh of an ogre and the third missed completely, Dac and Kharanax had erected quite a few magical barriers to protect them from their foes, but the Drow had their own mages who were busy breaking them down.
Suddenly, the ogres came charging over the hill, the Walll of Force was destroyed at the same time, overtaken by some mindless bloodlust, they charged straight through a Wall of Fire, this cost two of them their lives and gave the rest of them various burns, Kivan sliced apart the first to attack him and dodged the blow of the second, Dac and Kharanax stood back, ready to defend themselves, but saving their magic for the vampires who were also attacking, Siria and Ben stood back to back holding off three ogres, they had already slain three, Rissa backstabbed one, piercing it's heart and killing it instantly, the Wall of Fire was destroyed, now only a Wall of Ice and a Wall of Iron remained. ------------------ Worshipper of Tiax. As the strom encroaches, the man slowly and unsurely makes his way in, sits at a table, deep in his own thoughts then suddenly looks up, as if about to ask something of utmost importance.

My person just arrived at the bar! That means I can make up some excuse (maybe slum there) get some other people, then do a HUGE quest. BTW, my guys a sorcerer, even though you probably already knew. As the vampire and a few remaining skeletons run closer, Encard points his wand, aims... and says the trigger word as the vampire comes into range, causing a glowing ball that hurts the eyes to look at to flash from the tip of the wand and strike the vampire in the chest. The undead creature reases a a hellish shriek as the light burns it to ashes, and then an explosion of light surrounds where what yet remains of the vampire is, destroying the other nearby undead. Encard and Plague grin evilly, and look for more targets. Plague, however, decides he doesn't want to stay on the hovercraft jumps up into the air, and begins running. A few moments after Plague leaves the hovercraft, though, a giant black tentacle suddenly shoots out of the watter and grabs the hovercraft's hull, pulling it backwards an down. Encar curses and launches a globe of lightning at the tentacle, causing it to draw back for a moment, and screams, "Kraken! Everyone out of the hovercraft or kill that thing in the next few moments!" He swiftly recites a spell of flight and shoots up into the aior, from where he begins to launch more spells at the kraken that has somehow gotten to here.
Plague runs forward through the air, oblivious to what's happening back at the hovercraft. He slashes his spear through on skeleton's arm, then dives right and decapitates another, breaking a third skeleton's ribs with the backswing. He then swiftly jumps upward, barely avoiding a cut from a zombie's sword, and runs forward again. He lunges down, stabbing a zombie in the chest, the flames from his spear burning it, then withdraws his spear and slashes at another undead that is approaching, runs forward a bit, far enough to cut the throat of a blue, fuzzy-looking zombie, and jumps up again, this time taking a shallow wound in his left arm. However, as he moves forward, a pale figure holding a night-black sword lifts up from the mass of undead and begins to move toward him... ------------------ Lord of the RaBid Fruit Trees. LIliara turns to see the prisoner dispatching of a few drows himself. She is taken aback by his ability as she watches him take out a drow with his shackles, his wrists still bleeding from the inhumane treatment of his captors. She pulls him to his feet and helps him towards the door, he grabs a sword from one of the fallen drow as they make their way towards shelter.
When they are safe again, Liliara reaches into her bag looking for one of the remaining healing potions she bought before coming to this cursed land. OOC: *exaggerated sigh* Nanobyte, where exactly did you get the impression he's godly? Look at the stuff I'm writing, and you'll see you're wrong. If I made him godly, the battle would be over by now because he'd have killed them all in a few seconds. What actually HAS happened so far, if I count correctly is that he killed... let me see... maybe 3 or 4 hobgoblins, 8 or less skeletons, and a lesser vampire (or whatever that was, vampire fledgling, lesser vampire fledgling something of that sort), and took a wound in the arm. In what, 4 posts? None of which were very short? Actually, he only half killed the lesser vampire thingy. Eh... Sorry, but that's not godlike. I don't mean to be offensive, but why don't you wait for him to actually do something godlike before making accusations? Because as far as I can see, right now your statement is completely unfounded.

OOC: Usually, when you start a new character, it is reasonalbe to make them REASONABLE. Key elements in character creation. Your actions speak more than your words. Although, being an Assassin (trained to kill), I do not feel Shade would be capable of dispatching a Vampire, even a Fledgling.. Take it down a notch, and let the story progress with the characters..

OOC: In BG2, at least, a fledgling vampire is level 8. Now, Plague killed the fledgling (or lesser fledgling, still not sure) with help from Encard. I've killed fledgling vamps in BG2 with character around that level. I don't know if this stuff is different in P&P AD&D, but based on BG2, there's nothing whatsoever overpowered about this, as far as I can tell... If you see anything wrong with what I just said, please tell me, but I really don't think you have anything to make a point about in this case (sorry if I made you post an extra time... I should have put the with help from Encard part in when I said what Plague had killed so far).

Liliara waits until Bullvye has regained some of his strength and then leads him out of the tunnels. They come to rest beneath a grove of trees and she finally feels at ease enough to ask the prisoner her questions.
"How is it that a human has come to be in this land?" she asks. Before he can respond, she demands another, more pressing answer "How do you know my languge, the language of the Elves?" OOC- *blink, blink* um, right... last time i checked, LF had created these 2 vampyres, who have NOT attacked LS party yet... and unless Neb's group caught up with LS's group without my knowledge, then i dont see how people from LS's group can be attacking the monsters attacking Neb's group! *starts to hyperventilate* anywayz... ^_^;; shade's idea sounds kewl to me, and welcome to the Bar Talthyr Malkaviel! ^_^ i dont think anyone's there at the moment, maybe put a tracer on one of the active characters or something? stick around, this is apretty fun thread to be active on! and welcome back grinch, maybe we can entertain everyone again. ^_~* also, anyone know ANYTHING about song dragons?! or dragons in general... cuz any info on them would be helpful. ^_^* thanx. and guys, now, come on. Liliara is struggling to keep the quest moving, and you guys are arguing over godliness again. Didn't we have to start this Bar over once already because of this? Here's a deal- Nano, anyone can create as many characters as you want, just as lond as you dont continuously kill them off once you grow bored of them. Encard, keep your characters as they are, just don't let them be able to kill so many enemies, k? many people on the bar arent at a level to be able to accomplish what your characters have, so you're going to have to lower your standards to everyone elses. ^_^;; can you guys just get over it now and continue the quest? we spend more posts arguing than actively playing in the RPG... like LS's first post on all the Bars (which no one seems to read anymore...) it says "1. No flaming of other people. Friendly ribbing is ok, but don't get personal and don't take things personally....To prevent earlier problems, NO GODS OR SUPER-BEINGS ALLOWED - I AM THE ONLY ONE HERE. Any problems and I start a character registering forum" if anyone agrees we drop the subject, say "aye". lets continue with the adventure, now shall we? we're gonna scare off the newcomers and bore the old-timers with our arguements!

Liliara's words settle into Bullvye's thoughts. Owing his escape to the lady warrior,...the tale of Bullvye unfolds as thus.
" My homeland is far to the north of here. My people, from times long forgotten, lived in the lands beyond Icewind. Choosing to dwell in the woodlands, my clan people were called barbarians. Although great warriors, we sought only to live our lives,..alone and free of war and conflict. We lived in peace with the Elven people who occupied those lands since the dawn of time. We depended on each other for trade and safety in the hard winters that plagued the land. Until a darkness overcame my people and the Elves who were our neighbors and friends. From the mountains to the south arose the evil Elves. Seeking power, land, and blood, they waged war, in the night, on my homeland. Killing many men, women, and children of my tribe. Our clan's greatest warriors rose up to fight back the evil ones, but their numbers were too many. All but my brother and I were killed. I was following the hope of finding him when I was captured by a small pocket of Drow soldiers left behind to control what I once called my home. They will soon find out the measure of my resolve and strength!" Bullvye's thoughts seem to take him to a place he is not willing to share yet. " I should set a perimeter if we are to camp here tonight." he raises himself to his feet above Liliara, and begins to walk silently into the brush. Liliara cannot help but be intrigued that a man she judges to be in excess of 300 pounds, beyond the 6'5 mark, and so heavily muscled who could move as softly as he did.
