The hurricane hit the coast of North Carolina and Virgina yesterday. Today I've heard on the news that the tail end has hit Canada! By noon today there should be some heavy rain and some wind in Ottawa.

I have heard that it was not at all as tough as it was feared to be. Is that correct?

Well, I certainly hope not,but I haven't got any news on it today. Some of our members are down where it touched land, so I hope it wasn't as bad as they thought it might be!

Isabel was the size of italy. It maybe wasn't as tough as they thought it was but I assume it was still menacing?!

F4 maybe?

P.S. on saturn or jupiter (the big one) there are tornados with the power equivalent of a F38, imagine that!

I believe dear Isabel was a cat. 4-5 when it was in the middle of the Atlantic. I think it calmed down a bit when approaching land, or something. Just to enlighten a bit, a cat.4-5 hurricane(i dont remember which) is RARE. The last one was Mitch(1998), and before that i believe was Andrew(-92)...
