I'm not surprised. The kids here would knife a child to death for their mobile phones. In my local papaer a blind woman was mugged by a load of TWELVE year olds.

At first I thought they had only threw a coke bottle(plastic or glass??) at his head. After reading on though they continue to kick him while they are down. They should get more than assault. They were behaving like a bunch of pack animals. It also sounds like a rough area to begin with.

Notice a woman named Claudia SMITH was the mother of a kid named BONNER and another named ADAMS. 2 Fathers that are not still around? Messed up home life, anyone? Not an excuse, but an observation.

So what? What's the big deal? The kids today are being taught by, their parents, the schools, the politicians, and the courts that:

1. If you want it, take it. The person who has it doesn't deserve it, and doesn't need it anyway.
2. You'll never get caught.

3. If you do get caught nothing will happen unless you used a racial or gender slur. The worse that will happen is counseling.

I agree with RB that is part of the problem.. Nuclear families with at least one parent home with the kids all the time are the most stable and safe. Not perfect mind you...just the best that has been devised so far.

I will note that the small town where my kids are has near zero crime and no delinquents running around in packs...why? curfews, nuclear families, harsh punishments (spankings are accepted norms and smacking your kid upside the head in the grocery store is approved of) and strict religious upbringings....and the fact that there are only about 500 people in three townships [img]smile.gif[/img] ...just my observations. </font>
