Two new handheld consoles are here: the N-Gage and the PSP (Portable Playstation).

The N-Gage is out already, made by the cell phone people nokia, it's supposed to have better graphics than the gameboy (3D). It also can play music, has a portable light, and it has a built-in cell phone. It only has around 10 games out right now, but EA has agreed to design games for it.

The PSP is totally revolutionary. It has 3D graphics much like a PS1 and a 4.5 inch screen. The coolest things are the disks. Each one is 2.5 inches wide and can store up to 2 Gigabytes! Has a rechargable lithium-ion battery like the GBA SP, and the screen has a light. I can't wait until '04 when it comes out.

I dislike the N-Gage because I don't like the idea of a new company just barging in on the Video Game scene and try to compete with the big 3, but the PSP look very cool.

I'm all for diversification of a company, but anyone, who isn't one of the major companies in Console gaming already, is usually shot down before too long. Nokia should stick with the comunications angle. Besides their new toy is ugly.

And guess how much the N-Gage costs? 300 US bucks!!! I'd rather wait a year and get the PSP (they said it would cost $125-200).

Yep, $300 is way too much money for a hand-held with such a small contingency of games behind it.

Ok so far we've got people who don't like the new Nokia toy. Anyone going to play the other side of the field, or will this be one of those boring one sided topics. Like throwing a two-headed coin, where you win on heads.

Not sure Im playin the other side of the field ..but..$300 is alot o cash, but ppl will pay it just because its new, and hell, its a phone! And it will crash and burn or start selling for 75 bucks as soon as the Sony one comes out and we will all be wondering why we bought it for $300 a year ago!

Good for Nokia that they're trying to compete with the bigger companies. Too pricey tho. The PSP looks nice though. Might draw me back to handheld gaming.
