Alright, I'm finally gonna post something w/o mentioning that I am doing AWESOME soloing with my thief mage and doing it w/o cheating... wait a minute - I guess I just kind-of screwed up that idea...

Anyway, I figured what better topic to kick off my campaing of not mention that I am doing AWESOME soloing with my thief mage and doing it w/o cheating, than to do a topic about the best party! So, here it goes...

Me and Imoen. I'm a thief mage, she's a thief/mage. it fits. we back up the party with spells and arrows. Imoen focuses on stealth and traps. I focus on locks a pick-pocketing.

Khalid & Jahiera - Khalid is one of the best good-aligned fighters in the game. Plus, he is one of the only ones you can get early enough to get 5 prof in large sword. Jahiera is great for combat also, and with improved AC from the Ankheg plate I gave her (seems fitting for a druid, no?) she can usually cast spells in melee. (e.g. heal people)

Misnc & Dynahier - I always have Minsc stay back and use a bow and defend in case anyone sneaks around to attack Dynaheir, at which point I use a two-handed swords. (I also have minsc tank when I'm fighting monsters through door-ways and other places it's hard to get through. Dynaheir is great as my primary mage because she can focus everything on spells (usually dire-charm, flame arrow, monster summoning and huge amounts of magic missiles)

So the tally is - 2 fighters/tanks, 3 bowmen, 3 wizards, 2 thieves, 1 healer. Deosn't look to good on paper but it deos really awesome in the game.

I hear ya. I am soon to look for the aid of a cleric or druid, female preferably for my party. It is hard as hell to play the whole game alone with an Elf Ranger with a +50 HP bonus, my doings of course.

I canstantly have to stop and cast lighter healing the spell, innate ability, and use potions every 2 seconds.

So i guess im trying to say, cheating or not, this game is very hard, but thats the beauty of it!

Can Dynaheir learn Identify?
The only reason i didnt take her was because i thought she couldnt.
And also, i want to try soloing, any ideas for a good solo character?

Most people go with a theif/mage so they can avoid traps and cast spells. But usually a theif/anything works if you know where to get experience early on.

Soloing is never easy though. And i would suggest no matter what having 2 people with you wether you made them or you picked them up.

There isnt much advice for soloing except for the words, GOOD LUCK!
