Its so dead easy with minsc in the party
I cast negative plane protection, protection from evil on him then went in berserk mode and he ran trough the mind flayer dungeon, cutting trough the mindflayers like a knife in butter. He cleared the level in a minute...
That berserk thing seems a little overpowered IMO.

Are you sure you're not confusing Mind Flayers with Vampires? Neg. Plane Protection has no effect on Mind Flayers. Minsc also has very low INT to fight well against Mind Flayers.

Nope I dont, I didnt know if NEGPP would help or not but anyway, they all fell like flees.
Yes he do got a low intelligence but it was enough to clear that lvl.

Were you fighting them in the Underdark or in the Temple Sewers?

I was gonna boot Minsc and repleace him with Keldonr but I got some second thoughts now...hmmm

Well, that's weird. I usually keep Minsc in the back because Regular Flayers usually kill him in 1-2 hits. Ulitharids kill him in 1.

....that is really weird indeed.
They did drain him a couple of times but he lasted trough the whole level...
Now Maybe Negative Plane Protection has something to do about it anyway? Doesnt that spell protect you from leveldrains? Maybe it works the same way about intelligence drains aswell? This seem to be the only logical solution...
And if this is correct I just found myself a new Mindflayerslayer [img]smile.gif[/img]

Level Drain is not the same as INT Drain, or else Paladins with the Amulet of Power will have a grand time with Mind Flayers.

Protection from evil is useless too. And protection from magical weapons grands immunity to INT drain since INT drain is considered a magical weapon.

Then its a complete mystery to me why Minsc made a grand Mindflayer meal in a minute....
