right i was gonna use a mage in BG1, but is that pointless? should i use a different class? cos i wanna take this char right thru BG2 as well so shall i do this:
1) use a mage in BG1?
2) have a fighter/ ranger/ paladin in BG1 and then in BG2 get a mage as well?

I was thinking of taking a mage and going through BG1 into BG2 as well. Mainly because of the tomb that can only be used by a single class mage in BG which grants you +1 int as well as doubles your experiance which I was going to use towards the end of BG. It may be a little tough starting out in BGI with a mage though but I think in the long run it will be worth it.

Which tome is this? In know theres a tome of INT, but it dosent affect XP AFAIK.

Anyway, taking a mage through BG1 then BG2 will let you make a very powerful character. I was doing that, but M$ decided to act up on me and I have nothing left to show for days of play.
