Hi, everybody!
I've been 'ghosting' this great board for some time, and thanks to it my games are now far more enjoyable. BGII is the first RPG I've played (actually it's the first game I try besides "minesweeper" and "solitary") and I'm quite hooked on it. I usually play a "duet" or "Trio" sorcerer -I'm not good enough to 'solo' yet- and I have a question regarding the "Jaheira's Harper's Summon" quest:
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Meronia is supposed to summon Jaheira to the Harper's Hold right after delivering Montaron (in bird shape) to Txar (sp). I'm interested in Galvarey's ring, so I got Jaheira to join me right before delivering the bird. We handed the bird to Txar, the Harper killed him, etc... everything fine, but Meronia didn't show up. We went to the Sea Bounty, did the "Jaheira's Curse" quest to kill some time, she gained a level as a fighter... but no Harper summon. Is there some specific condition for Jaheira to get summoned? And on a side note: Since I play solo most chap 2 quests, I usually have problems managing the inventory (too many items). I found a storage place in a wall at Waukeen's Promenade, near the spot labeled "Armorer\Fletcher" (sp). It's located aprox. @ MousePos 1669,1282, AR0700. Some items (like the Acorns) have been there for some 18 (game)days, and it looks pretty stable, but I'm not sure if the items will be still there when I get back from SpellHold/UnderDark. Is anybody here using this storage space? TIA |
First off, welcome to the IW!!! (cheers in background) Ok, now on to your question...
When I did this quest, I know it took quite some time for Jah to get summoned. I think three days or so (game time). Hope this helps. [ 11-25-2002, 10:28 PM: Message edited by: Gammit ] |
When I get the quest it is several days after Xzar get's killed, the first time I played Jehaira didn't get summoned before chapter 7.

g'day and welcome
as for leaving things around. i have picked up a few tips. Never leave anything on the floor ANYWHERE it will go missing even if you place it on the floor of your stronghold (like nalia's keep) I once placed a certain lanthorn there and it #$%^@!* 'in disapered! (yes i did execute the likley culprit) and had to restart the whole game however if you place things on a table or cupboard it will be safe forever even in the copper cornet! just make sure you place things ON the table not NEAR the table. enjoy. |

If you are in the romance with her go to the Temple Ruins (Umar hills quest) and sleep near the temple after speaking to Anath. Some guys will wake you up and threaten to kill her if you don't hand over your money. If you want to continue your romance but not to lose money offer yourself as hostage and they will shoot you (they will hurt you or Jahiera anyway but it won't be fatal). Kill them and then Meronia will turn up and the quest will start. That is if you have done The Harper quest and Ployer. Either that or you have to wiat a bit to come to that part of the romance outdoors. |
just go to different districts, you should get summoned

Any items left in a "container" of any sort (table, chest, nook in the wall, barrel, etc) will be completely safe. Those left lying on the ground however, will disappear after a while.
But I'm not sure if critical items (those you need in order to make progress through the game) will ever disappear even if left on the ground. |
