I've actually done the "Gang of four" party for my Evil Game. Very fun it was too.

I'm currently playing the all-mage party - except I'm a Kensai(13)/mage

"Bad Poets Society" must be the most novel one here.

Here is another idea:

"The Runaway Children" - all characters are on the runaway from their respective families:

The good thing about this idea is that it isn't that silly in an RP perspective. They all have many problems in common.

good idea except Imoen is neutral
Try Nalia or Aerie instead (Aerie is a fun mix with Korgan)

It's possible to assemble an all-mod party, although interparty banter will be fairly light. Kelsey and Solaufein have one, and I think there's an interjection or two where Solaufein and Valen react to one another...
