As an example of what can be done with Pickpocketing, Let's take Aldeth Sashenstar's Bastard Sword +1, that's +3 against shapeshifters. Decent enough sword, I suppose, but I don't like it because Bastard Swords have a slower strike than Longswords, and I find the Doppelgangers easy enough anyway. However....let's say you like the blade. Would you like three of them? Simple. Pickpocket Aldeth when you meet him in the Cloakwood. Pickpocket Aldeth when he's OUTSIDE the Merchant's League. Perform Aldeth's quest. TA-DA! Each time you rob him, you get the sword, a diamond, and I think a Potion of Heroism. Now, the question is: Can you think of any OTHER items in the game you might want multiples of? Gee, I wonder!!! LOL http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
This works because the game creates a new Aldeth, sword and all, in every place you meet him. It's not exactly cheating, it's simply taking advantage of the game. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif And the dividends are definitely worth it.

P.S. My front-line fighter has an Armor Class of -12....That's the absolute best it can get in BG1, right?

I've heard of people getting an AC of -13 but I'm not sure how.

To do it you have to pickpocket/kill Drizzt, right? I had AC=-10 the best time.

Shield -3? That's the Large Shield +2 that's in ToSC, right? I'm just doing straight BG1, but I've got Full Plate, a DEX of 18, Shield of the Falling Stars, Helm of Balduran, Cloak of Balduran, Ring of Protection +2, the Claw of Kazgaroth, and the Defender. I'm immune to everything except critical hits and bosses with REALLY good THAC0. And I've heard differing accounts of Drizzt's chainmail: Some say you can cast Mage spells through it, some say you can't. I've got a kickass Fighter/Conjurer who can't cast while wearing it. Is this a version issue, and will a patch allow my dude to throw Lighning Bolts while keeping his AC at -3?

Pickpocketing DOES kick ass. But sometimes I feel guilty about it because I guess it is cheating in a way.
