Besides the fact that I don't want to play an evil character, it seems the anti-paladin is way overpowered. Is this true?

Don't seem to remember that there actually is an anti-paladin class.. You can become a fallen paladin though, but I don't really know if there are extra features involved in that one...

Aargh! I'm getting sooooo confused about tactic's mod, and other mods that I can't remember what is original and what is not about BG2. Really.. Shouldn't there be a tag on these sort of posts or something?

I think I remember reading somewhere that the Anti-Paladin is an advantaged class indeed... in an attempt to make up for the difficulties of being Evil, which are many. My Antipaladin/Thief is a terror to behold.

<font color="gold">The Anti-Paladin is indeed very strong. Just the fact the he dispels magic on every melee hit makes him overpowered. Toss in True Seeing and immunity to Hold and Charm and you've got yourself a low-level god. ;) </font>

Exactly. And then later on dual-class to a theif like Tancred said. Get HLA's in TOB and be able to use any item. Backstab, traps. IMHO they are powerful allright. And I would imagine dualing to a mage would be even scarier.

 • The Anti Paladin is an inquisitor (kit wise), just with the added ability to dispel with every hit. If the anti paladin is overpowered, then one could argue that the Inquisitor is also overpowered.</font>
 • At first, I thought the "dispel on every hit" was added in since the AP cannot wield Carsomyr, and then I found the improved Unholy Reaver....We now have a beastly weapon *and* the ability to dispel with every hit.....hmm</font>
 • The AP's "dispel magic with every hit" seems to be 100% successful, as long as the to-hit roll is successful. This means, provided that you have a magical and normal weapon to hand, that you can take down any mage in the game with great ease (apart from those that are naturally immune to normal weapons, i.e. liches). The attack needs to be successful in order to dispel, so a protection that causes the wielded weapon to become ineffective also blocks the dispel - but then that's why you potentially have a level 80 dispel ability (even if it stops advancing at level 20, this is still effectively cast by a character with a casting level of 40), in short, the AP can take down any mage very easily.</font>
To sum up, the AP is no more overpowered than an inquisitor wielding Carsomyr.
