I've just created a straight fighter character, and wondered when the best time would be to dual to a thief? I want to try and obtain commendable fighting skills, but without progressing too far into the game, as I want to get the Mae'Var guild hall.
Any advice would be appreciated Thanks in advance |

A question. Do you have ToB? |
Hi and thanks!
I do not have TOB, but I'm hoping to pick it up next weekend, so anything that will apply to that would be useful to. |
In that case, I would suggest level nine.
Once you get ToB and are interested in going for the long haul, try level 13, or even higher! |
Okay thanks for the advice!

If you have just plain SoA, your character can attain no more than 2,950,000 total EXP points. If you also have ToB installed, the EXP cap is 8,000,000. [ADD:] A Warrior gets the most out of his hitpoints by not Dualing until at least Level 9. A Warrior's THAC0 will stop improving after Level 21. A Warrior's Saving Throws stop improving somewhere around 3,000,000 total EXP. [ 03-09-2003, 02:47 AM: Message edited by: SixOfSpades ] |
Thanks SixOfSpades that's most useful, I basically want a good fighter with decent weapon proficiencies that can also perform trap and backstab duties, so I guess i'll hang around on Chapter 2 and get my fighter up to about level 12 or something.
A quick question though: when I get TOB, will the experience caps on my existing characters be automatically changed? |
Yes.
