I made a bunch of custom items, but I need icons for them.
Is anybody talented in that area? Technically, I need bitmap files, I can easily copy/paste them to .bam format. Or if you have BAMWorkshop, you can make them with it. |
Is it possible to extract existing item image files and play with them in a photo editing program like Fireworks or Paint? A few quick color changes and you've got yourself a new item.

Custom made BAM files are a piece of cake, though I haven't found a good way to actually create a new one; but altering existing ones is pretty decent to.

It is possible, but it is hard to do something good.
I shall ask him. |
I've been meaning to ask about that very thing: Is there any sort of file format with which BAMWorkshop is compatible? It would save me a ton of effort if I could get it to recognize *.BMP files, but no such luck. As it is, I'm reduced to taking an existing BAM and cycling the colors, which is just--how shall I put this--lame.
Also, is there a way to draw my own pencil-sketches for the items (left-hand side in the Item Description) instead of recycling the ones that come with the game? So far, the best approximations I've seen were the new Kelsey items, and all they do is repeat the BAM file. |
I write a hacky utility that converts pnm files to (single-frame) bam files, which might come in handy. I also have the "bam color changer" that was used to make the icons for the item upgrade mod.
Send me email if you'd like a copy. I'd attach the source code here but that doesn't seem to be an option. |
Wes, could you send me bam color changer?
Thank you. |

I would also like that custom file you made Wesley, if it indeed does what you state (probably.. huh ) then its something I have desperatly been looking for.
