Why can beholders (even the small ones) see me while I am in sanctuary?

But they don't see my R/C when in stealth!

I mean not only the big ones, even the smallest one sees thru sanctuary.

I have SoA with official patch, baldurdash and tactics mod.

isn't Sanctuary a spell to keep things from harming you? i didn't know you were supposed to be stealthed as well.

SANCTUARY is only a protection spell, it DOES NOT let you be invisisble to anyone. To be invisible you must either have a thief or the invisibility spells (regular, improved, group, etc...).

I can tell you that they can hurt you! It could be of course that the first ray might be an antimagic one so that sanctuary is dispelled. Can't tell you for sure 'cause they cast like hell. But I don't think so unless the small ones have this kind of spell too.

However, while in sanctuary you may backstack. It's a nice tactic for a stalker/cleric. (Of cause afterwards sanctuary is broken). Also sanctuary is treated as an illusion and dispelled with true sight.

Can you imagine my poor r/c's face when saw dozens of rays flying onto him when he tried to walk thru the ranks of beholders conviced that the sanctuary provided by his god would protect him? Unfortunately he hadn't enough time to damn this god and change religion ... but I guess he will have a word with him in death man's world.

I correct myself. This is something I must have misundertsood. I just tried it out: no I can't backstab with sanctuary.

i just remembered that some creatures seem to ignore sanctuary(bug?). cant remember specifically which creatures/characters do, but some of the harder ones anyway.
