Waaaaah! i can no longer play BG2 for more than 5 minutes without it dropping out to the desktop! i've uninstalled, reinstalled with the UK patch and the Baldurdash fixpack, but still nothing!
I kept hold of my save game as i've got that far i didn't really want to start again (although i may have to) - the only thing i can think of is to format the PC and start from scratch! But if i keep the same save game and copy it to CD, what are the chances of the problems repeating themselves? I haven't played it properly in 3 weeks! i'm suffering here! |
thats a pity to hear. try to empty the cache folder, if you havent already.

Now that i haven't tried!....hmmm i'll have to go tell my manager that i have more important things to do than look after the railway! HUZZAH! new hope!

hope it works

I also have some simlilar problems - crashing to desktop or computer freezes completely. Any other ideas, guys ?

Not in here, but everytime I swap CD´s the game goes backround and autoplay icon appears on the windows desktop. Autoplay is annoying to disable everytime before you start to play, glad it doesn´t take much time.

I have also had problems of the game freezing. I can usually get a few hours at a time, so it's not TOO much trouble. It was happening much more often earlier, and then I installed a new soundcard (a lot of times the freezing went hand in hand with looping of the sound). I tried to play the game with no sound, but found it to be too boring.
You might want to check your sound card driver, download an update if there is one. The other thing I try to do is turn off any unnecessary programs running in the background. Since this includes my virus scan and firewall, I make sure to disconnect from the internet first! |
