Wheeeeeee! BG2 is working again at last!...but...has anyone ever experienced problems with the Solaufein MOD? not sure why but for some reason whenever Solaufein is involved in a conversation i cannot see the text or the text options that appear afterwards.

It doesn't stop the game, just means i don't know what people are saying! or what i just said to them!

I played with Solaufein in my party quite a few times, and never encountered such problems. Try to reinstall the mod. Be sure you use the latest version.

Okey doke, i'll give that a go. Although it could be down to some recent problems i've had - kept crashing, seems to have sorted itself out a little bit - still crashes sometimes but its at least playable!

Whenever you put in a WeiDU-based mod and you see blank space where the text should be, it means you installed the mod while the game was running or you had Shadowkeeper or a similar program open. (everybody remember that.)

Quit the game before you install any mod. In this case, reinstalling Solaufein should do it.
