Okay, so the story is this: I'm currently soloing through the BGII SOA + TOB with a multiclass fighter/mage. I was battling the cowled enforcers at the waukeen's promenade when i discovered this incredible tactic: Spell Immunity(Divination) + Mislead. Since all the enemies are mages, after they experimented and found out that they can't dispell my illulsion, all they did was just stood there until i killed them one by one! Is this combo considered to be invulnerable to magicks (they can't target you with spells when you're invisble)? I know that they can use area effect spells, but since i have the cloak of mirror on, they can't even harm me a bit...

Hi,
cool tactic! Cowled enforcers are weak mages. (6000 XP per enforcer) This is interesting tactic, but let me tell you - the cloak (it is spell deflection or spell turning) can not protect you from area effect spells - it can only protect you from spells directly targetet at you (try cast a fireball near you). Also there are bunch of spells that can affect you like Inprisonment, Maze, Wail of Banshee, PWK if you have low than 60 hp, any summon, Meteor swarm, Horrid will, fireball, etc. or they can remove your SI with certain spells (there are specific antiillusion spells - dispell, true sight(i don't know if it is from Divination school), etc) and then... There is detect invisibility, but also purge invisibility you know and during your attack you become visible - enough time for power mage to make nasty things. And remember there is no ultimate protection against sorcerers. Try your tactic against true powerfull mages (spoilers SoA) ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Rune ones, Liches, Gaxx, Beholders and if it works again then you're the man |

Right you are LennonCook.
RRR removes any spell protections but one per RRR and Spell strike will remove them all. However Spellstrike and RRR are lvl 9 and lvl 8 spells that those cowled enforcers do not cast. Basically the game provides you with lot of protections that can make you invincible, the bad news is that they can be removed |
My 2 cents:
He is invisible (Improved) under Mislead so he cannot be targeted with Ruby Ray of Reversal. (only with Chain Contingency) Cloak of Mirroring protects even against area effect spells - ADHW, Fireball, ... (not Cloudkill or Death fog though !) |
Even if they did use a contingency against you theres always that under used level 5 spell; Spell Shield. Which protects you against Spell Thrust, Secret Word, Breach, Lower Resistance, Pierce Magic, Ruby Ray, Warding Whip, Pierce Shield, and Spellstrike, tasty no? Or theres the power gamers delight; Preserving Boots (tactics mod) which may protect you from Ruby Ray of Reversal. This tactic of course will not work against tougher monsters as they detect invisibility by script (see sig for some examples) or if the AI was smart enough to cast dispel at the location you were last seen.

My question is:
Even if the enemy mages have the spells available to dispel theholyavenger´s combo, is the AI script good enough to let the mages "realize" which spells they have to use to dispel it? |
If you combine SI: Adjuration and Non-detection and Mistead then the things become really interesting , but again read Improved Invisibility spell carefully - they still can see you.
After SoA pure install the cloak of cheese does not protect you against area effect spells. It is modified from spell turning to spell deflection with the patches or ToB itself. |
