I'm in the second lower level of the tower (the one with the four riddles). I've completed everything on that level (I think). There are stairs leading down near some dwarven guards and a secret door near those stairs. I can neither open the secret door nor go down the stairs. I've read that the switches in the control room on the other side of the level have something to do with it but there seem to be countles combinations (I've been flipping swtiches for hours) and no clear way to tell when one is "on" or "off". How do I get down to the lower levels and/or through that secret door??.....help!!!

You have to talk to the four dwarves and answer the riddles to their satisfaction. I think this is one of the best parts to the whole game. You can't hack your way through this one, yet. If you get really frustrated, ask srecific questions. We will spoil you if all else fails. A good trick is to read all the old posts on the subjects you want to know about in the "show all topics" section. Durlag's is the best! Enjoy!

I've already solved the riddles, i think. The gong, the wine, the gem, and the reading of the books....they have already "turned bad" and i've kicked thier butts. I just cant go down the stairs.

You need a wardstone from somewhere in the SW corner.... SPOILER...

That staircase is a fake Silverleaf. You only go down it to...go back to the top of the stairshttp://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif. However, as Telchar says, the wardstone isn't that far away. Keep looking; you'll find it.
