<font color="#FFFFFF">DSlaytern] Thank goodness Ziroc disabled the &lt;blink&gt; tags, or there would be troll reports flooding my e-mail. ;) Since you are new here, I will just let you off this time, but now that you do know, please use common sense next time and not try to be excessive with your HTML usage. Not only is it annoying to people, it will backfire against you because annoyed people generally do not wish to help the "culprit".

Cheers.</font>

WOAH! is it just me or are the letters gigantic! i must be hallucinating... dude i gotta stop posting so late... well .... to answer ur question YES u can romance with an npc. Romances are carried out through Love Talks which happen every once in a while between the protagonist and the character he/shes romancing with... (usually ends in a quest) romancable npc's are Aerie Jaheira and Viconia and Anomen... (u have to be the opposite gender to do it ) u can romance with more npc's through mods..... err... only certain races can romance like elves and humans and half elves... (Aerie with gnomes)... my favorite class is the THIEF cuz the stronghold is cool and i like to steal and backstab MWAHA! MWAHA! i also play with the ranger...(not that fun) and finally, if u dual class with a mage/fighter err u can wear armor and stuff but u cant cast magical spells while ur wearing equipment mages cannot wear

My usual rant about the best class:

The definitely is no such thing as the best class. All are powerful if played correctly, and all suck if controlled by an hmm... say, unskilled player

OK, some classes are underrated. Some MODs fix it, balancing (more or less) the game.

There is only such thing as personal preference Speaking of which, SORCERERS RULE! :D

Sorcerers are awesome if you solo, but THIEVES ALL THE WAY!!!

Read Dundee's FAQ at the top of the forum to learn more about dual-classing.

I think having a fighter first class will give your second class more attacks per round and grandmastery (5 stars) in whatever weapons the second class can take. In the case of fighter/mages, if a figher puts proficiency stars in axes, and duals to a mage, those stars will have been wasted because mages can't use axes. ;)

Let me direct you to another helpful site: http://www.geocities.com/sixospades/bg/contents.htm

My personal favorite is the Half Orc Barbarian, a weapon in each hand, very powerful. Great for soloing. Second fav is the fighter, thief, mage. Good for everything, but only after playing thru the game with him a few times. They take forever to build up. Gotta have a good thief.

I do not mean to be insulting, but it is much easier to read and respond to the message if you proofread it once before posting it

'Romancing Characters' : This is where the PC and an NPC [Hit ctrl + a to read] <font color="#3D2F1B">For males: Jaheira, Aerie, Viconia, For Females: Anomen</font> develop a relationship which goes beyond mere friendship. One of the biggest gripes a lot of people have about the relationships is that they frequently seem to be like therapy for the NPCs - They just tell you about their problems. Nonetheless it's a game, and it can be a nice extra angle to the game.

'Best class' : There is really no best class. One of my funnest Characters was a Gnomish Fighter/Mage specializing in Quarterstaves. Really all characters can be extraordinarily powerful if played correctly. I would recommend a Fighter as the most powerful for someone who did not have a good grasp of AD&D rules, but on the other hand a Sorcerer is probably more powerful for someone who knows the rules well (and the cheese!).

Fighter/Mage weapons : Fighter/Mages can use all weapons a fighter would be able to use, in addition to the Only (To my knowledge) mage only weapon [Hit ctrl + a to read] <font color="#3D2F1B">The Staff of the Magi</font>.
