Okay, I've gotten the second half of the rod, and killed the Beholder. Now, how to get out?!

I saw another thread where it said the exit is along the south wall, and that it "pops" up. Well, I've been there for a while, and nothing! Is it where the dialogue says that the pit is too steep to climb, or somewhere else? I do have a thief in my party, but no helpful potions.

Any help in exiting this pit is greatly appreciated.

i almost hesitate to ask but have you tried looking at the map screen for an exit? [img]smile.gif[/img]

Yes, the exit is marked on the map. The only problem is, a pop-up dialogue says, "It is too steep to climb"!! Hitting the TAB key doesn't help, either.

did you exit the beholder lair again? You needn't do that.
The exit is to the left of where you probably killed the Unseeing Eye. It's on the south wall of the Beholder Lair, not outside, and looks like a stairset.
