What's the deal with the broken sword that you finds in the beginning at Jon Boys teaparty?

A broken sword is nothing. It's what you get when you break on of your weapons. The one you find in Jon's place is a randomized treasure, I think.

breaking swords happens in BG1, the broken weapons and armor are just for ambience in BG2

one more thing..if you ever bother to try casting the enchanted weapon spell, after the spell wears out, you're left with broken weapons in inventory.

anybody remember "Broken Sword" the graphic adventure?
Twas one of the rare gems after LucasArts switched over to 3D
