Altough my knowledge about BG II is pretty much big I have just realised that I don`t know what kind of damage Sunray actually does? One of the reasons why I`m asking this is that the certain Improved Boss Fire Giant in ToB casts Sunray. How do you protect from it?

You could use Spell Imunity: Alteration. It's extremely effective against undead. A level 20 cleric could do 3-18 + 20d6 damage agaisn't undead. Imagine casting this in a room infested with vampires. This would pretty much wipe them all out.

Sunray also has a instant-death possibility on Undead which seems to be different from other insta-kills (Vorpal hit, FoD,...) because it just uses ridicolously high amounts of damage (like Ctrl+Y).

Edit: SPOILER ON A WAY TO KILL A LICH - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Aerie is actually a very destructive tool against liches. Have her do this: Spell Immunity: Abjuration Spell Immunity: Necromancy Time Stop Lower Resistance as many times as you can on the lich Sunray Goodbye Lich [ 10-27-2003, 06:28 PM: Message edited by: Lord ] |
Sure but i just use Turn Undead... less time to spare. :D

AFAIK, Liches are immuned to Lower Resistance.

As to what type of damage that Sunray does, I believe it is Magic Damage. Or perhaps it's that mysterious "unspecified" damage featured by the KILLSW01.
