I and my friend wish to paly a multiplayer game, there is one problem. We want to set a password to block other people coming onto our server, problem is, we will NOT use gamespy, so we will be using the standard joining/creating thingies from the game itself. Now, here is the catch, when I join his game, I type in his IP address, that's cool and all, but it never asks for a password, and I promptly get booted. How can I join this server?! I need to fill in that password SOMEwhere, but where?! Behind the IP address? If so, how?

JrKASPEROV, I don't know why that would be happening. I play online all the time with my friend Tuna using a TCP/IP address and there are no problems at all. I don't think that anyone can join your game in TCP/IP unless they have the address. Also the person who sets up the game has the ability to either accept or deny player requests to join if they happen to get the address. What I'm saying is that TCP/IP does'nt need a password just an address nd Permissions, hope this helps

How do you disallow players to join then? I have not found anything for that...
