If you could have 1 spell (mage or cleric) from BG2 what spell would you choose?

I personnally couldn't pick one although Hold Person could provide amusing moments... as could improved invisability :D

Hmm... charm person...

With Charm person they remember everything that went on ;)

I would choose Domination, or perhaps Improved Haste..although Draw on Holy Might (i think) would come in handy sometimes...so would Friends for that matter..

with Dire Charm and Domination i dont think they remember ;)

I think Draw upon Holy Might would be the best "spell" for the real world, as it isn't so obvious, like Aganazzar's scorcher, or the like. I guess it would work kind of like adrenaline.

Nah. Protection from Evil, all the way. Not only do you glow pretty colors for a while, but it helps you hide from those pesky demons and relatives that spend the month at your house.

Ok here are the spells that I think could be useful:
Mage:
Level 1
Burning Hands - Great Party trick and no more digging around for a lighter [img]tongue.gif[/img]
Sleep - Useful for when someone really boring keeps talking to you... just put them to sleep

Level 2
Knock - No longer have to ring RACQ if you lock your keys in the car
Mirror Image - Now image this, 8 versions of myself all disco dancing in a strait line... freaky isnt it
Ray of Enfeeblement - I would seriously consider going into the professional boxing tournaments if I could drain my opponents strength down to 5 :D
Strength - Oh yeah, Governor Arnold watch out!

Level 3

Ghost Armor - Hmm, AC2, no added weight... could be fun
Haste - Enter the Olympics ;)
Protection from Cold - So I can sit around in my underwear in winter

Level 4

Confusion - Oh the fun that could be had by casting that in a big city mall
Hopelessness - Could be useful if I ever annoy anyone much bigger then myself
Improved Invisability - ...Excellent [img]graemlins/showoff.gif[/img]
Polymorph Self - Simply because it would be fun [img]tongue.gif[/img]
Spider Spawn - Ever had trouble finding a seat on the bus? Worry no longer just call 1800-spider
Wizard Eye - Just for seeing whats happening around

Level 5
Feeblemind - There are just some people out there who need to be feebleminded

Level 6
Conjure Earth Elemental - Nothing like having someone to do all the heavy lifting for you, great for when you can't reach the high shelf in the supermarket
Disintergrate - Better then a trash-compactor
Mislead - Could be fun
Power Word, Silence - Oh how I would love to cast that on my little brother

Level 8
Maze - Great for tormenting people
Simulacrum - YES! Another me :D

Level 9
Shapechange - Turning into a beholder is very tempting
Timestop - I would mysteriously become a lot richer

Priest Spells
Level 1
Cure light wounds - A useful thing to be able to do I am sure

Level 2
Goodberry - For when I get the munchies

Level 3
Cure disease - I could start my own hospital and become very rich

Level 6
False Dawn - Just to throw off people's sense of time

Level 7
Resurrection - Heck why not?
