Does anyone know of a mod that would allow for a character to Dual-class or Multi-class sorcerers? I have always wanted to try Kensai-Mages or other class combinations, but honestly I hate mages with a deep passion. Okay...that is a bit of an exageration, but sorcerers are by far the more powerful and more fun in my opinion. Really what I'm looking for is a mod that allows any class or kit to be able to dual class to any other class or kit. For example, a Kensai/Assassin or a Monk/Sorcerer. I checked the comprehensive mod list and failed to find one (aside from the Druidic Sorcerer kit which does not appear to be compatible with The Darkest Day). I was wondering if it would be possible to create such a mod? And by the way, I realize that this would be supremely overpowered and that is exactly what I am looking for.

Nope. It cannot be done, the sorc class is hardcoded. You can create a new kind of sorc, like the Druidic sorc, but you cannot allow multi or dualclassing. Just one of those limitations that are built into the engine.
However, if Icewind Gate ever comes out, this will port the game to the IWD2 engine which uses 3rd ed and that allows multi-classing far more freely than the 2nd ed BG2 engine. |

Maybe it can be done with ShadowKeeper? |
Wow, this forum rules: two responces in under ten minutes. Anyway, its a shame the sorcerer is hardcoded (I'm going to pretend I know what that means), but I might have to look into that ShadowKeeper idea. Thanks.

Nope, not in Shadowkeeper. Like Andrewas said, it's hardcoded... SK is a wonderful thing, but it can't change that.

"Hardcoded" means that it's something buried deep within the BGMAIN.EXE file. A lot of things can be done by some simple tinkering with the text-based .2DA files in the Override folder, that's no big deal......but hacking into the hex-based executable file is something else entirely.

kensai thac0, damage bonus and ac bonus are all simply lines in the affects tab...if you copy and paste the appropriate lines, you can then create a sorc who has the same abilities as a kensai...with use any item, edit the proficiencies, and increase the number of attacks per round, you can kinda counterfeit a kensai sorceror. yes, it does work...but is seriously sicko.. |
<span style="color: lightblue">As much as my ethics tell me not to do this, check the second post in this thread, it seems to have something similar to what you're after.
