is it possible to disarm traps?

Did you get a manual with your game ?? You paid for it, might as well read it...
Your thief can detect traps with one of his ability buttons. Then he can walk up to the trap, and disarm it with another one of his buttons engaged.
If you don't have a thief, then I believe it is the cleric that has a spell to detect traps...(Then, sometimes you can walk around floor traps because you can see them glowing red)
It is better for you to read about this stuff in your book.

1 - detect the trap
2 - use your "lock pick" skill button on it to disarm it.
