Well i'm finally on my way inside Baldur's Gate but when I try to go to a certain part of the city my puter locks up. It's when I try to go south toward the Harbormaster and The Low Lantern. The screen comes up Loading Area but the line at the bottom that goes over and lights up the skull eyes does nothing?????? I have to cut off the puter and let it reboot to get out of it. I can journey elsewhere in the city just not to that part without crashing...........

Maybe your cd is damaged or the data corrupted. Try re-installing the game.

Try also cleaning your "override" and "temp" folders within your Baldurs Gate installation directory, they might contain corrupted data. Try also cleaning your cds.

I've heard that cleaning the disks with the proper cleaning fluid can do wonders. There sometimes still some sort of a residue from their manufacture on them. So I've been told.
