Well,ive been away from baldurs gate 2 for a while,and now im back,with a new idea for a party.The PC is prety standard,but ive got some ideas for the group that ive not used before.


PC-Preist of Lathander,minor buffs,destructive spells.
Jaheirah-Using a sling,groups healer,and buffer.
Imoen-Mage/Theif,the group will have little use for a mage,expect major spells such as time stop.She will mainly be used as a theif.
Keldorn-Archer with his crossbow,or backup tank when the PC takes too much of a beating.


Thats my 4 man party.I may take mazzy,but i dont think i have much of a use for her.

What do you think,jaheirah using a sling and keldorn with a crossbow?

Jaheira is the best tank in the game. Give her FOA, anc Crom Fayear or DOE cast Ironskins, Chaotic Commands, Armor of Faith and watch everything go down. Keldorn should have Crossbow. Then give him Crossbow of Speed or something like that and Bolts of Biting and it`s smooth sailing.

Keldorn won't be much of a backup tank if your protagonist is a Cleric.

BTW, Zen, Jaheira can't use those weapons you mentioned (unless she's not a Druid in your game anymore).

Ouh sorry. I made a mistake. She is a C/R in my game.

O.K. Then give her Blackblood and and Gnasher.

I myself never really use jaheirah as tank,i tend to go for the bigger mucley guys,like Minsc or Keldorn.i might try jah for tank,but i suspect ill want my PC...I like the image of standing there and being unkillable for the mian character :D

Jaheira can pull off that 'unkillable' thing better then any NPC in the game, with the possible exception of Haer'Dalis. Great armor + great shield + Ironskins + Armor of Faith + Amulet of Power = one person who's practically impossible to kill without magic (or really nasty attacks, like dragons). Throw in the Cloak of Mirroring if you're feeling really cheesy.

But surley someone else with all those things you mentioned plus better con dex and str would be an even better tank... [img]tongue.gif[/img]

true-ish but godthatfailed's cleric will never get the ironskins which i think is the critical difference

that's not to say i don't like the idea - my next game is looking like a tanking fighter/cleric with Korgan, Mazzy and Jan - should make a change from sneaking around with a 'pansy elf, solo archer ;)

hmmmm. youre using two of the best tanks as archers......strange. im assuming you will be using summons as meat shields??

Jaheria has 17 for both dex and con, which means she averages ahead of Minsc, Keldorn and Korgan. Strength is a pretty irrelevant stat, even for fighters, because you're going to be using belts and so on for them before you're a third of the way through the game. No other stat has so many overpowered enhancers available. Dex and Char have one item only that will bring you up to a mere 18, and the other stats don't even have that much in the way of permanent boosts (unless I'm forgetting something).
