Ok, i've been a monk, and got got bored with power. Been a cleric/mage, got bored with power. Past 2 games, i have failed to finesh due to being indestructable. So, to make things more difficult, I intend to run through the game with a commoner.

All my stats at 10, a plain fighter, i want to see if a normal guy could be a god of murder.

Some things, such as pleasing Sola, will require higher stats, so you'll miss out on some events. You won't be able to wield some weapons that require a higher strength.
However, I don't see why you can't run through the with those stats. I'm sure it has been done before.

I'd suggest stat's ranging from 9-12, this gives a nice range for varity and allows use of some more than normal weapons while not giving the massive power boost that higher values do.

Enchanters are a bit diffrent if you want a bit of a challenge but not impossible, so are diviners, the first rules out Evocation so no magic missle and the second rules out conjuration so no flame arrows or mass summonings..

Under used weapons can also be fun, halberds, Morning stars, x-bows and dagger skills will lead you down the path less walked..

Sounds like a good challenge, but you might have trouple finding armor that you will be able to wear, unless you find some belts and such. You could probably get good enough stats to do use items through rings and belts.

If you want a challenge solo a Beastmaster on Insane with Tactics MOD. Try a no-reloads game. :D

Mr_Krift 12-18-2004 09:51 AM

Yeah, kinda depends if its gonna be a solo or party effort. With a party it would be easy, but the solo commoner...Good Luck!

TheGodThatFailed 12-18-2004 10:06 AM

Aye, solo commoner. It's exatly the same basicly, so i think the answer would be: Yes, yes he can.

you didn't say if you wanted to do it solo or with a party. If you find the game too easy then do not do it with a party if you aren't already. If you still find it too easy then put it on insane.

Even the veterans here will probably tell you that a solo character against insane enemies is hard regardless what class or tactics you use.

If that is too hard then don't inch out towards enemies to take them out one on one and just charge in to take out the group.

...the game on solo insane is hard no matter who you are. remember that the tactics in this game are quite simple and generic, there are no hands on controls in battles (only commands) meaning that the ease experience allows you in the game is quite limited and only really benefits the player by letting them know where the enemies are and the great items which give you you power are
