- I have cleared Larswood and Peldvale. There are no bandits left in the bandit camp. i have flooded the mine. I had to use a cheat to get the key though. When I get to the bridge the guard says I can't get in because there are too many bandits around. What am I doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated

Hello Sgam.
In order to get into Baldurs Gate City you have to be in Chapter 5 of the game. Now Chapter 5 is triggered by reading the scrolls on the 4th level of the mines, I think that flooding the mines is a quest rather than a 'milestone'. So if your game hasn't reached Chapter 5 then you've got a problem, so I hope you have a saved game. Otherwise someone else may know what to do. Good luck.

The lowering of the bridge is triggered by a trigger infront of the elevator to get from level 4 of the mines, back to level one. (I know this because there used to be issues with Hastened characters with boots of speed not triggering it before the next area loaded).

Why did you have to use a cheat? I am guessing you screwed up the 4th level of the mines so badly that you wont be able to get anywhere now.

The motto is dont cheat.

I'm not sure what to make of the two posts above and the supposed triggers they mention. As far as I know it is flooding the mines, which requires giving the key to the miner standing next to the river plug, that completes chapter four. (Chapter 5 then begins with the movie of the flooded Cloakwood mines.) Perhaps the dialogue with Rill and Yeslick are required for the flooding though, eg, if you just CLUAed the key up without those dialogues then that might cause problems...

The only way you can get to Cloakwood (legally) is to win the 'big tent' battle at the bandit camp. So I'm going to assume you did that, and didn't cheat yourself into Cloakwood with the MoveToArea cheat or the Global cheat to go to a new chapter...
