<font color=plum>After re-installing BG2 and various Mods, I decided to resurrect an old game with Kelsey in it, but I'm getting a strange bug.
Anytime Kelsey talks, the only dialogue that appears on the screen is <font color=cyan>"If things feel right between two people,...."</font> This also shows up when I check Kelsey's "spellbook". His dialogue seems to actually be working ok. He and Anomen got in a little snit when Anomen was trying to impress my female PC about how great the Order was. I saw Anomen's responses and Kelsey apparantly gave the proper interjections, but none of his dialouge actually appeared on the screen. Has anybody else encountered this problem? (Yes, I AM fully patched and running the latest versions of all installed Mods)</font> |
Are you restoring an older savegame?
If you are you might have saved with a diffrent version of one or more of the mod's installed and that *might* be giving you problems.. I think if you press the K key that should make kesley try and debug himself, though it might be diffrent.. |
This sounds like an install problem - Q's advice might well help.

Have you got any non-weidu mods installed? I installed a couple in the wrong order once - it overwrote my dialoge.tlk file and I encountered the exact problem you are experiencing with Kelsey with the Chloe NPC mod. Uninstalling all mods, and reinstall in the correct order brought the dialogue back.

<font color=plum>Yes, the Saved Game is an older game and may be an older version of Kelsey.
No, I don't have any non-Wiedu Mods installed. I'll try <font color=yellow>Q's</font> advice. <font color=orange>Yep, that seemed to fix the problem. Thanks for the advice, <font color=yellow>Q</font></font></font> [ 01-15-2005, 09:08 AM: Message edited by: Cerek ] |

Ok all sillyness aside, if that don't work you might try starting freash with a new party to see if Kesley is acting funny in a new game.. If he is then well I dunno, head for the hills? Uninstall Kesley and download an older version, install that and see if that works.. If that fails to solve anything then somthing's gone horribly wrong and you might need to reinstall BG2.. If not, and the internal Debug don't be working you can restart the game and go though again getting to the same point.. Or you can ignore the problems and hope nothing major goes wrong.. Or beg and plead to the maker of kesley to help you, though I doubt he will.. old huffleguts.. (that's a joke BTW, [insert laugh track here]) Quote:

True, jcompton added a nice little dialogue fixer (designed by someone whose name I'd have to check the Kelsey credits to rediscover) in case Kelsey gets screwed up. The only part you left out, Q'alooaith, is that the README says you need to select Kelsey before pressing K. I think. |

Now as to does it matter, probably not.. But then if one person is the only person credited to know the anwsers it can lead to some problems when they are wrong/don't know the anwser.. And anyway, it was funny. |

Your wrong about the no one selected part, you can at certain times have nothing selected at all..
When a monster unsummons, or when you join a multiplayer game, these and other times you don't automaticaly have anybody selected.. |
