A fellow at another forum posted this. Was wondering if people in the know could help answer?

I loved the first one and have ported over my character and am now playing through Baldurs Gate 2.

I do have a question though, and I didn't feel like registering to a Baldurs gate site to ask one question. I figure some one here must play Baldurs gate right?

Well the question is this, the group members all banter at random with one another. For example the Paladin in my group keeps having discussions with the rogue about his family. I'm considering droping the paladin from the group for a while then picking him up again. Will that break their little side story? I mean if I drop him from the group and then pick him up later will him and the thief continue their conversations from where they left off?

I also had a evil dwarf in my group who would make the elf chick in my group cry all the time. I droped him though to take in the paladin. If I let the dwarf back in will he still continue his little tirades against her from where he left off?

Any way please no spoilers... I just want to know if you let some one go will and then invite them back later if it will break their banter.
Thanks.

Banters will pick up where they left off if you boot someone from the group and re-recruit them. The exception is some banters that involve the main character: If an NPC is chatting with the player character, and you boot them from the group, sometimes they'll be too offended by it to continue that line of conversation anymore.

Okie, thanks.
BTW how's everyone? Haven't dropped by for quite a while now.

Well the game is programmed to have fixed banters with a particular npc. Like Korgan and Aerie, there is no way you can avoid the conflicts between them. There will come a time where you'll have to choose between Korgan and Aerie. If you choose Korgan, then Aerie will leave for good.

There is a way, through mods, though, so I wouldn't worry about that too much if you have an internet connection/don't mind playing with a mod installed. ;)
