I have shadowkeeper. I'm a little tired of using a bard or having to cast identify spells over and over, or use those identify glasses. So I want to change my characters so they will have high lore points.

Dunno how you'd do that, but one of the components in the Ease-of-Use or the G3-fixpack mod or something makes all items identified by default...

High Wisdom=High Lore

the rank for how high lore can get is like:

bard(most)
theif
wizard
other(least)

Thanks to both of you!

Although Shadowkeeper does indeed lack a slot for Lore (very bizarre), you can change it if you have Near Infinity by decompressing and opening your save file, double clicking the character in question, scrolling to the bottom of the Edit page, to where it says "Cre File:___" and opening the creature file. Then scroll about 3/4 of the way down to where the "Lore:___" entry is and modify it from there. Good luck with your identifying,

Modifying lore in a creature file, unfortunately, makes no difference as lore is calculated on the fly by the engine. I discovered this while trying to modify the base lore score when working on the Delainy mod.

Your options for changing lore (especially with limited tools and/or modding knowledge) are limited. You can change the factors in the lore calculation--as DragonSlayer25 points out, Wisdom is one factor, as are Intelligence, character level, and class--but most of these are probably major character changes for a minor result.

You can also modify the files that control the base lore that every character class receives per level and the lore bonuses for wisdom and intelligence, but these will be game-wide changes and not character-specific. The base lore by class in controlled by lore.2da, and the lore bonuses from Int/Wis is controlled by lorebon.2da. Both are editable by NI.

The specific solution to your problem requires a bit of familiarity with modding. By adding an effect to a creature file, you can have it adjust the creature's lore by a % or a fixed amount. This is the solution I ended up using for Delainy.

I'm working on a spell to permanently increase a character's lore points. PM me your email address and I'll send the file to you. That seems to be a simple solution.
