No, not you...I mean your characters!
I decided to intoxicate my character in BG1 and go around swinging aimlessly at people...only to miss every time. Now, the manual claims that taking a drink or 2 bolsters your moral...is this true? Will it help in your save against a fear spell? Any purpose to drinking? It's a nice touch to the game, but I don't see much point to it. |
Roleplaying.

never went out fightin under the influence. i just tend to get my characters leathered till the barstaff wont serve me no more

do you get useful rumours when you drink in BG2 like you did in BG1?
|
I think you do
|
In BG 1 I once made a godlike mage with gatekeeper. Then I drank until they didn't serve me anymore. Then I started casting cloudkills on random townspeople.
|
I did that :D
and drinking is majorly for RP reasons... and for people who don't know what the hell to do... |

And yes, there are tips from bartenders, and that is the only real "good" reason to drink. btw, you also get tips from temples if you donate money. |
Yes, but they don't record it in the journal like in BG1.
|
which is a downer.
