How's this for a strange one...

My character seems to be permanently under a blue fireshield. Whenever I get hit by anyone they take anything from 80-150 damage (25 different damage lines of 4 pts each). I've tested this by having my own party members attack me. I've stripped my character of ALL weapons, armor and inventory and I still do this damage. I've got a theory on why this is happening and am about to test it out, but I was wondering if anyone who HAD custom items in their override (even if they are not equipped or even in the game) are experiencing some little oddities like this.

It's making the game kind of boring...I'm invincible! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/noncgi/smiles/wow.gif

Although its hard to believe, I distinctly remember someone having the exact same problem a week back, or slightly more. It was a fireshield, and they couldn't get it to leave. (sheesh, and you call yourself a moderator! **kidding!** http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif I know you manage a few http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif)

If I recall, I think it was a custom item that triggered it. But I could be wrong. Try to see if you can find the thread. My worry is that its with the batch that got archived by Ziroc (does that matter? I cant recall what the Z-man said about that). I've been hunting for it and haven't found it, at least not yet. I'll check the SoA forum just in case.

Geez, give me a break! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Where did you see this thread anyway? I tried doing a search in both SoA and ToB and couldn't find it. I also searched the archives.

I think I found that thread. It's similar but not exactly the same. I've got a nasty feeling that it's got something to do with what's in the override folder.

Yeah, that's it. I can see the difference-sorry, I couldn't recall the exactness of it, but I did remember it revolving around a pesky fireshield.

If I had to hazard a guess, I think it *does* have something to do with whatever you may have in your override folder.

I've got a feeling that maybe the functionality of the override has changed with ToB and it may be picking up an item which *has* got a fireshield feature (like Keldorn's Hallowed Redeemer). It seems to increase by level - because my character is level 30 I do something like 4 pts of damage a level. I still haven't figured out how to get rid of it but once I do I'll post something here.
