I got my own self constructed party (multiplayer), so I got a bard and a thief in it. The thief AND the bard can set traps, and it's super!!!!! I did watcher's keep, and before I used the keys on the seal I setted traps. When your opponents emerge (it's a pattern http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif ) SLAP, two or three of them are already dead http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...les/tongue.gif Very nice!!!! Try it!! I recommend you!

How can the set trap ability be raised?? It's base seems to be set at 10, and I know that the mercy killer ring raises it to 30, but this still causes the vast majority of snares I set to fail. Any ideas?

rais it when your thief levels up, most people forget that you can move down when you are deviding stats for the thief abbility

Traps rule. However, I don't know if its just my game, but when the trap damage is the last hit on the baddy, you don't get xp. so don't go trap happy. then again, i might be wrong.

Time traps are ridiculously powerful. The enemy doesn't even have to step on it, and combined with assassination who's going to survive?

traps no fun, dont use it!
damn, I sound like Blizzard right now, how come? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif |
Explosion Traps knock unconsious all baddies except for bosses and don't harm party members. They are like Dragon breath with no save!

setting traps in areas where enemies are going to spawn is imho one of the cheesiest strategies out there. ranks right up there with the out-of-sight-cloudkill. reserved strictly for lamers...

but thats only if you already know where the monsters will be (ie. you reloaded the game).
An often used tactic that isn't lame is to set a trap, find the monster and give him/her the finger, and then run like hell back along the track that has the trap (did this A LOT w/ the beholders on the SOA unseeing eye quest). Also as mentioned, setting traps when you have some idea of where the badies will be (a seal), isn't lame - but unless you cheat/reload the chances are that the monster will not be hiting it unless you do some luring again. |
