. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I am having problems killing this Bhaalspawn. I killed him once, but 2 of my characters were destroyed. What can i do to defend against his blue dragons breath? Will miscast magic type spells reduce the chances that he uses this attack? I have been most successfull by sending in clay golems with the golem book. The big problem is when he transforms to the dragon, all my characters go flying back, most unconscious, as well as my summoned monsters. Then the dragon targets my characters insted of the summoned creatures. What creatures are most effective against him? My main character is a 35 Cleric, btw. Imoen and Aerie are my casters. Sarevok, Minsc and Valygar are my other guys. anyway, i'm going to go give it one more whack then check back here in a bit. |
Abazigal's dragon breath isn't a spell - so unfortunately, none of the spells that normally affect a creature's ability to cast will prevent him from using it.
It is however, lightening based (if I'm remembering right), so upping your characters' resistances will probably help you defend against it. Use Protection from Energy(Wizard), and Protection from Electricity(Wizard) - as well as any other buffs that you normally use. Note that there is a difference between electrical magic attacks and electrical breath weapons (which is what you're dealing with), and its resistance against breath weapons that you're shooting for. As for his wing-flap, I'm not entirely sure what kind of saves are allowed against that, or even how to protect against it, though I'm sure someone here on this forum could probably tell you. A note on summoned creatures: if you have these spells available to you, they are also very useful against high-end creatures such as Abazigal - Summon Planetar, Mordenkainen's Sword, and Greater Elemental Summoning (which may or may not be available to your cleric, depending on what you chose for spells). |
i think planatars are not affected by wing buffet but im not sure

i beat him at about level 18 because of one great combo
Summon as many creatures as you can when you go flying back, hopefully the your summoned creatures will charge foward again and hold him off giving your characters time to recover. Now use a dispell and hit him with every powerful spell you have as well as your fighters attacking head on. |
