Ok, my friend was in watcher's keep lvl 3 and he entered the area of the maze where there is a tree like thing in the middle. Suddenly a cow fell from the sky and did 2 damage to Sarevok. Does anyone know why this happened????????

Wild Magic room. Refer to the ToB manual for more details.

that's one of the wildsurges in the maze, some rooms are dead-magic zones, others cause every spell to be a wild surge. (it's also a spell you can cast if you get it from shadowkeeper, a lvl 2 mage spell called summon cow, it has the picture from the spell grease)

cool wild magic. is it possible to change from Mage to wild Mage?? i'll post this when i start TOB again (i'm playing through BG at the moment)

not without shadowkeeper, wild mages are considered a specialist mage (getting the extra spell per lvl, but without an opposition school- ie you can still learn and use every mage spell in the game), every spell they cast, a die is rolled to see if the spell is cast at your level, higher, or lower, and there is a 5-10% chance of a wild surge everytime a wildmage casts a spell (it can do almost anything, from am area effect stoneskin (all your party gets it) to raining cows from the sky.

If you read all the things that can happen in a Wild Surge, it cracks you up a couple of times. The makers of ToB really did their best in inventing some ingenious things that can happen :D

that's a pretty clever work indeed! a round of ale for the makers!!!!

Although I love Bioware, I have the PnP Forgotten Realms campaign setting. There's a section specifically on Wild Magic (I DM) that has the exact same table.
