The last time i went through SOA/TOB i found 5 pairs of boots of speed, is there a 6th pair? Its really annoying having one party member lagging behind everyone else.

There are only 5 pairs. Get the Grandmaster Armour to permanently increase everybody's movement speed. ;)

I have six pairs. I think (not sure) the extra one came from killing the shadow thieves in chapter 6.

I've only found 5. I can't complain, though, as even that is ridiculously Monty Haul-ish in my view. :D I got the upgrade on the +2 cloak and some other minor magic item, giving Nalia 2 uses of Improved Haste, which I use to keep her up-to-speed, so to speak, in battles. I especially like to do this in some of ToB's more frantic battles, where I like to fight on-the-run as a group.

Bill is right. The 6th pair of Boots of Speed in SoA & ToB is worn by Renal Bloodscalp. I've heard that getting the BioWare patch and BaldurDash Fixpack will prevent Arkanis Gath spawning in Chapter 6, and I'll test that when I get back from the Underdark. In my last game, I had to play chicken with Arkanis to get those Boots.

I have both patches and no A.G. when I cleaned house after the graveyard in chapter 6.

Actually, you can get Renal's pair in Chapter 2.

If you side with Bodhi, Renal Bloodscalp disappears and you don't get the chance to kill him (in Chapter 2, that is). If you kill him after siding with Aran Linvail (or before you've made your choice), Arkanis Gath shows up, and, well... :rolleyes:
However, if you Feeblemind Renal and all of the other shadows thieves on the second floor of the guild, you can kill him with no problems, and,
Voila!
An extra pair of Boots of Speed for you. [img]smile.gif[/img]
Casting Feeblemind on him will not turn him nor his defenders hostile, BTW.

if you are playing multi just take a charcter with the boots and export him and then import him to add an exta pair or do it as many times as you want. use the boots he has on and give them to some one else, but befor you can do this put the boots that were on the char before the import and put them in a diff inventory
