is there a newer version of shadow keeper than V 2.1.4. I keep hearing people talk about using it for the item mod, to replace lost items. I have tried but never show any items but what the game origanally allows. Any info will help.

As far as whether there's a version of SK newer than 2.1.4, I wouldn't know. I don't even know the version number on the copy I have. But what I do know is this: Shadowkeeper is not a mystical tool that will unlock the vast resources of the Internet and magically create new items for you to use. It can only access items that already exist in the program, whether those items were actually implemented in the game (Short Sword of Backstabbing) or not (Albruin+2).

If you want to get the stuff available in Weimer's Item Upgrades MOD, you have two choices:
1) Learn IEEP and create the items yourself, from scratch, or
2) Download and install Item Upgrades.
When you hear people talking about using SK "to replace lost items" for Upgrades, that's usually cases such as "Cromwell says he needs X, but I forgot to get X while I was there and now I can't go back," or "Cromwell needs Y number of this type of gem, but I don't want to go running around Amn looking for this type of gem" stuff.

<span style="color: lightblue">Actually, Six, there's a Third Way - using Near Infinity. And it's interface is alot easier to work in than IEEP's.

Yes I know the purpose of the program what I ment was did I do the upgrade mod incorrectly. I was wondering if I had screwed up somewhere so that sk would not read the info upon startup.

Actually, if you want to be that pedantic, there's a Fourth Way - using DLTCEP. And it has better effect descriptions than IEEP or Near Infinity.
