I roleplay the game, but I messed around a bit using the cheats for xp etc and have made some really strong characters just to test. Using multi and dual classing you can make some characters that become true demi gods lol. I always use level 50 rules pack btw

I was wondering what people out there had made that really impressed them.

The best I could come up with was kensai dualed mage and kensai dualled thief. The kensai/mage could cast things like stoneskin on himself then rush off into combat. Of course with a whole load of offensive spells too.

Kensai/thief had a crazy backstab. Also, because of the use any item ability he could wear plate mail armour and bracers.

Swashbuckler/mage got to an amazing AC and had nice abilities, but the lack of backstab I didn't like.

Always intrested to hear other players experiments and opinions

Maxed out fighter/mage kicks the bejesus out of maxed out kensai/mage. Why? Warrior and Mage HLAs. Timestop + IA + Stoneskin + GWW + GDB...the list goes on. :D I also like late dualled assassin=>fighters. Or even (lol) lvl 21 assassin=>mage. Sound weird? It is, but a lot of fun. And finally, of course, the most powerful character? Maxed out sorcerer.

The Anti-Paladin from the Tactics mod, dual-classed to a Thief at level 9. He just simply could not be stopped. A dual-wielding backstabber with grandmastery in longswords who could dispel on hit? He took on Irenicus unarmoured and with fisticuffs and won! I had to give up on that one. Too... well, boring.

Might try an Assassin/Cleric. That's anti-paladinish.

Swashbuckler dualled to Mage, stats at 25 mostly, all spells.
Well balanced and do n e thing you want, Disarm traps pick locks, spells and fight impressively, to bad he couldnt backstab but thats ok.

if you dual at 14 with your paladin, if the rules are still the same as the 2nd edition i remember when i played ADND on paper, then you will get an extra attack per round (fighter class). im just angry i didnt dual my cleric, because after 25 they make allmost no progress, and remain at 1 attack per round.

That Anti Paladin is almost god like. A bit too much if you ask me, the dispel magic every hit. He can solo the game no problems with an ability like that.
