Xan NPC MOD for Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (Xan for short) is an add-on for the game Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, with or without the Throne of Bhaal expansion pack.

Version 2 of the mod is now available, featuring these additions and enhancements:

- ToB portion of the mod
- Russian translation for SoA and ToB
- "Alternate Xan's class" component: Mage, Fighter/Mage, Sorcerer, Wild Mage(ToB)
- Additional NPC romance reactions for SoA
- Updated to WeiDU 195
- Altered Xan's starting proficiencies
- Altered 'spoilerish' interjections
- Adjusted voice volume
- Corrected some typographical errors

Gah, this comes out now after my last ToB game was over a month ago! I ended up picking up Edwin instead, after Xan had to leave. Ahh well.

I had some fun with it in SoA, but felt the need to change the voice-over back to the original one from BG1 (which took some painstaking time, but was well worth it). The newer voice over is far too whimsical and lacks the sincerity of the original. I just couldn't get used to it.

Depends on how strongly attached to him you were, I guess.

For me he was the ultimate philosophical blood brother if you will, from my second ever run through BG1.
The fact that I used stats from a second ed bard character from a PnP campaign meant that I was even more attached to that particular party.
Mead was singing dark, bhaalic dirges in espousing his pessimisms for the world and trying to croon exactly like Xan by the end of it all. :D
