I'm well past both these points now, but I'm curious:

1. Are you able to turn the heat back on and return the aquarium to a non-frozen state?

2. Is there any way to defeat Malavon without all those dark dwarves getting gassed? I thought about trying but lost patience and just gakked him.

Slowly closing in on Marketh, then all the badges are mine!!!

Wyrm's Tooth is permanently frozen, I think. There is a room where the heater is, but I dragged my mouse over everything in there, and found nothing I could activate to crank up the juice.

The Drow kills those poor little guys no matter what. I was actually pretty curious about this myself, so I tried several different conversation paths, and all of them ended the same. Finally, I just said "F*ck them, I'm gonna kick yer a$$". He killed them, I killed him.

As for the end game, I went through like the entire 6th chapter with no arrows! My bard thankfully had some nifty magic armor by then, and the +2 Defender Axe. My mage/thief just stayed out've the way and used magic when applicable, since I was unable to re-stock her arrows.

haven't found a way to turn heat on and the same thing happened to me with the drow mage. I let him kill them then beat the tar out of him.

Thanks, I didn't think so on either point...

Oh, and if you want to get supplies or you need to get some items back to the arboretum in the Severed Hand, do it before you go through the lock with the 6 badges -- once you start that encounter, it doesn't look like you'll be able leave where you end up (trying to be deliberately vague here). There's chances to rest, but no shops and no way out of town.
