On the quest to get the Helm of Balduran in Baldur's Gate does anyone know where or how to get it.?

In the helm and cloak inn go to the second floor (back stair)

The helm is hidden "behind" a painting in the top right corner of the room

If you defeat some statues, can't remember exactly what house these are in sorry, they'll tell you where you can find the helm.... as described above, or you can find the location of baldurans cloak. (if you choose the cloak, you can always go and get the helm aswell)

Where is the cloak and whet kind of cloak is it?

to get the cloak you have to actually start the quest from the begiiing First getting it then Fighting the statues then going to the undercity and a working girl there will just give it to you for free.

Or you could just do the quest and attempt to get the best items in the game by EARNING them.......just a thought....

The way of going about getting the cloak and the helm is this: Go and see Dogrodal (or however you spell it) in the big house next to the Helm and Cloak. He'll have doom guards and such guarding the inside of his house. Either use potions of invisibility to sneak by them or just fight them, either way is fine. Talk with mage boy and he'll give you the scrolls of stone to flesh. Go to the pink house across from the market in the center of town, and unpetrify all or the warrior in the top left hand corner. Press the matter that you have to return with the helm and you can avoid a fight if you do it properly, be nice, but pushy. The helm is in the Helm and Cloak, and the cloak in the Undercellers held by the courtesan, can't remember her name but it might be in the note given by the elf warrior.

By the undercellars do you mean the sewers or the room where you kill the asassins?

the room with the assians prior to them being there of course. You enter through the mermaid the room on your left just before you get to the central area has the girl with the cloak. If you have the letter from the guy you turned from stone to flesh and just insist that she give his stuff to you she wil leventually give you the cloak
