I like Quyale best - he's both illutionist and cleric

My good party used Dynaheir, and my evil party scooped up Xzar, Xan, and Edwin, but I don't really like the mages in the game. I think I'd have to go with Xzar. Not only is he fun to listen to, but he can learn enchantments, charms, summonings, conjurings, and envokings, the spells the other mages respectively cannot. Illusions? 'Cept for mirror image, don't really need them.

I don't hear much about Xzar but he fits my game style

Edwin is evil but without question he is the best as a pure Mage. In BG2 and BG1?? he gets +2 spells per level.
I prefer Thief >> then Special Mage so they can use arrows ;) |
Xzar Is The Funniest Char On The Game, But Edwin Is By Far The Best. His Amulet Gives Him Extra Spells

Xan, because "life is so hollow".
OK, he has his downs. He can't cast Evocation (Magic Missle, Chromatic Orb etc.) but for one he is suited for a good party, and does not have another person who must be in the party for him to be happy, like Dynaheir and Minsc. Plus, with the Ring Of Wizardry that I found in the Friendly Arm Inn, he is cool. He is level 4, and he has memorised, 5 Larloch's Minor Drain's, 1 Identify, 1 Horror and 1 Mirror Image! Cool or what? Plus, Moonblade, his "saving grace"! Oh, and before you ask. x=2553 y=3757, use "l" key to find location. Look for those co-ordinates in the Friendly Arm Inn Grounds. Once found, you'll find the Ring Of Wizardry. Apparantly, it doesn't work when the game is patched, or when you have TotSC installed, but I don't know. |
