Five levels down and I've reached the end of the serpentine corridors.
I met the little girl who became Yuan-Ti and after a brief skirmish
I retreated.
When I returned she had gone.
I've dealt with everything on that level - but no sign of her
or the Gem.
Where is she?
Help!

Yuxonemai is probably stuck somewhere. I ran away and she chased me all the way to the entrance to the level once. she remined there when i returned to the level later! My guess is that when you ran away, she chased you and the poor AI may have led her off into a corner somewhere. I'd say, go back and search every area of that level again. She's probably stuck in a room somewhere.

I've looked everywhere.
Yuxonemai has vanished.
I've also been back to town - and returned.
The game seems to have come to an end.
What now?

three solutions I can think of:

1. Activate the cheat console or download dalekeeper and give yourself the gem thingy.

2. Export your characters, start a new game and import them into it. Remember that storage bags won't save. Because your characters have levels and gear, you can carve through it pretty quickly. To do so even quicker, set difficulty to easy until you are about ready to enter the little girl's map. If you have an older saved game, you can load it and import your characters into it instead, save some play time.

3. Ask if someone has a saved game at about that point to e-mail to you. Then import your characters into it. As a second option, if someone has a character with the gem, they could export that character, e-mail that character to you, and you could import that character into your current game (after you export and then remove one of your guys from your party), move the gem to one of your party members, and then ditch that character and re-import your 6th party member.

Option one is easiest. I have DaleKeeper and it works just fine.
I have completed IWD/HoW as well. So no worries there.

Dalemaster works just fine, it doesnt ruin anything. So you lose nothing by using it

I think quite a few of us have had the problem of vanishing Yxunomei. Going out of the area for R&R after starting to fight her always seems to cause her to vanish. I was fortunate to have a saved game first time, and haven't made that mistake again.
Lucky Dalekeeper is there if we need it, though!
